Welcome to the Waimea Tramping Club! Based in sunny Richmond, we first put on our tramping boots in 1973 and since then we have grown from strength to strength thanks to our enthusiastic members and awesome 'back yard'.

We run trips every weekend, and truly are spoilt for choices of tramping destinations. Right on our doorstep is Mt Richmond Forest Park, whilst Abel Tasman, Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks all lie within an hour or so's drive. On long weekends and for extended trips, we venture further afield to the West Coast, the Canterbury High Country, Marlborough and beyond.

In addition to exploring the Great Outdoors, Waimea Tramping Club holds regular club meetings, publishes a quarterly newsletter, has an annual photo competition, and gets together for social gatherings. So do come and check us out - we're a friendly bunch and would love to have you step out with us.
